Kung nais mo ng libreng racekit
At ito naman ay ang mga hindi kagandahang paraan upang magkaroon ng ninanais mong racekit;

Adidas KOTR Race Result and Discussion
NO! to Copy and Paste! (mula sa isang blog patungo sa isa na walang pasintabi)
YES! Watermarking (upang mapangalagaan ang inyo mga pinaghirapang kunan na mga litrato)

Who's Running at the Adobo Run?"
Of course YOU are! Why shouldn't you? This race is something out of the ordinary, you get to run in a costume, is there anything else much fun than that? Besides you, there are also some celebrities who would be sharing the road with you like Illac Diaz and Gwen Zamora.
Possibly going to elicit shrieks and provide celebrity appeal to the event are the sure participation of GMA Artist Center's rising jewel Gwen Zamora. Gwen will don her erstwhile Cinderella costume of the telefantasya fame Grazilda as she joins the 3k category. Illac Diaz himself will be in a general's costume as he runs with a whole platoon of real-life soldiers in the 5k category. Noted sports host and personality Rovilson Fernandez and ace comedian Bearwin Meily would prefer to keep their costumes under wraps even as they set their sights in setting their respective personal bests in the virtually flat course of the 15k category. Several more celebrities are reportedly going to make surprise participation in their chosen race categories in the adobo Run, undoubtedly the biggest night race of the year.
For the post-race activities, Ebe Dancel, noted former vocalist of Sugarfree, will be jamming with the race participants who are in for some wholesome rock party. Also provide rocking beats at the race are top band Stonefree and rising indie band Blue Boy Bites. Other standout bands from the music scene will sustain the live performances at the adobo Run.
On the serious side of running, top Filipina marathoners Mercedita Manipol and Joan Banayag are all set to claim the spotlight in the 5k and 15k categories, respectively. This will be the first time Manipol and Banayag will compete in a night run. Providing, however, top-class competition to our home-grown running heroines are the formidable slew of Kenyan runners.
And to further provide excitement to male participants, the Playboy Playmates will be donning their titillating bunny outfits as they strut it out throughout the 3k course.
Registration for the adobo Run After Dark is extended until October 28, Friday. Visit now R.O.X. in Bonifacio High Street, Toby's EDSA Shangri-La Mall, and Runnr Trinoma to catch the remaining race slots. Satellite registration outlets are the adobo Magazine office at Unit C2-A Bldg., Karrivin Plaza, 2316 Chino Roces (Pasong Tamo ext) and Crush Communications office at the Ground Flr of Jupiter 1 Bldg, 56 Jupiter St., Bel-air, Makati. On-line registration facility is also an alternative via www.adoborun.runningmate.ph. On-site registration will also be available on race day Saturday, October 29 at the Aseana City Business Center lobby (just beside McDonald’s in Macapagal Blvd cor Bradco Ave) from 10am till 6pm. For more information visit www.adobomagazine.com/adoborun or text/call 0905-3861076." (from press release)

Do you want to be an Ironman?
Congratulations to the Filipino athletes who competed at the Ford Ironman Championship!
YES! I want to be an Ironman!
But how? My fear of deep water would hinder me to complete even a mini-sprint race, sure I know how to swim, and little by little (with God's help) I'm conquering this fear. And when that time comes, I may be able to bravely swim any body of water. How about my biking skill? Yes I know how to bike, but haven't tried this skill yet on a road bike, but what more on a tri bike? My running? Sure I can run, but not that fast. :)
And so at this point in my life, I can't, and I won't, I don't have the luxury of time to devote mine for training. And I'm a wife of a triathlete, at the back of my mind, maybe I feel contended knowing that my husband gladly shares his accomplishments with me. For now I will just be the "Jinky Pacquiao" to a Manny Pacquiao, or the "Kelly Lawrence" to a Terenzo Bozzone or the "Neri Alexander" to a Craig "Crowie" Alexander. :)
And when the time comes when Erick is competing for his full Ironman distance, I would be on the other side of the road, cheering for him and I will be waiting at the finish line. :)

Does a "second" matters?
We all know about "Filipino time", a negative value that describes the Filipino. You would be a hypocrite if you deny of using this term and doing it too. Does a second matters to you? An hour would be, and even a minute, but would losing a second be important to you?
I'm a wife of triathlete, hubby has finished several multi sport event and excelling in each one of them. Just this Sunday, July 17, he competed in Matabungkay at the Tri King event, when he fully recovered from his bike crash and completed his physical therapy session, he was psyched to train for the said event. I would whine that he no longer have time for me nor the kids. But I understand how important it is for him to finish strong in this race, since it was his comeback.
So what does a "second" have to do with this race? It's because by just one second (1 second), the 3rd place for his age group was stolen from him. With just one second, a podium finish from his sports resume will not be added. With just this one second, he did not receive the prize and medal for this place. So next time, also think about the second, not just the minute or the hour, remember without this one second, a minute will only be just 59 seconds. ;)
Next race is 70.3 Ironman in Camarines Sur and Bohol on December for the full Ironman.

Proud wife and still 'am
Erick is still healing his broken collarbone, it was a bummer for him to have this injury, he had to turn down races and training schedule. It has been eight weeks and up to now it hasn't fully recovered yet. But Erick being stubborn as he is, he's been doing workouts already, biking, running a half marathon in sub 2 hours, and swimming. I'm amaze at how his body works, he's at the office in the evening, have a little sleep and then he's off to his minimal training routine. I'm not a nagging wife, I'd like to think of myself as the supporting wife, if he ask if he can join a race, buy parts for a bike, I rarely turn him down. When he asked me if he could join the Tour of Subic (ToS), I asked him if he's ready and when he said yes I permitted him to join. I love our tandem, we think of ourselves as one, I don't know why but we compliment each other. :D
Today, he's competing in Subic, I'm just hoping that he comes back safe and whole. For I don't want him to go through another mishap. To the Quest boys, God speed, have a safe ride.
Thanks Deo for this nice profile picture of Erick with Chervy
P.S.: Erick, please take care of Chervy, it breaks my heart to see him battered, you know why. :D

Goldilock's Run to F.E.E.D.
Being a runner has some perks, for me I don't worry about gaining too much weight, it's the loosing of pounds I'm more worried. I would watch my weight making it sure for me to be at my ideal weight. I can eat almost anything I want, I don't care about the serving size, literally I eat everything that I want to eat especially desserts. I love ice cream, leche flan, cake and everything sweet. And so when I heard about this run, I decided to join and registered for a half marathon.
The Goldilocks Fun Run who also celebrates its 45th Anniversary this year will take place on May 15 , 2011, 5:00AM at the Bonifacio Global City. This race is the first leg of the Run Rio Series, the next two series will be announced soon, so if you want to be one of the awardees for next year's Run Rio Series join the half marathon of this race. A dreamer no more (Part 2)
Before this race I have registered before for a full marathon but decided to back out from it at the last-minute, like the Condura Race 2010 and QCIM 2010. It was really bugging me that I have been running for almost three-year yet I haven't finish any full marathons yet.
As early as October 2010, the participants were given a training program specially designed for first time marathoners. It was an easy walk and run for the first two weeks, slowly increasing the mileage and duration of run. At this time I was still in my complacent mode. I would not do what was asked for, I don't do the long runs or the maintenance weekly run . I was so stubborn! And so when QCIM 2010 came last December it was so hard for me, I was gasping for air and can't run continuously. This was my wake-up call!
And so the following Monday after QCIM, I was like a kid eager to train, it was like my love for running was rekindle, but it was just my ego. And so just after this week I was again so lazy to follow my training program. What would happen to you at TBR? was my husbands constant reminder to me. :) At this time even if I was not obedient with my program I was watching my nutrition, I would eat all that I can just to gain weight.
When it was time for our first long run last February 26 at Nuvali, I was scared! Scared that I might not finish the entire course. And we were even late so I was rushing to the starting line. I just started at an easy pace so as not to get tired easily, this was the time that I first came to meet Dittie. Because of the cold weather and a short rainfall, I was able to finish my first 30K long run at 4hours 30minutes. At that time I was calculation of the possibility of finishing my first full marathon at 6hours and 30minutes. Since I still felt alright after the run.
With this goal to reach, I trained hard for the last three weeks before the big day. I would do my maintenance and long runs. I was really feeling good about myself that I would reach my goal..........
At 9:51AM last March 20, I crossed the finish line of my first full marathon. I praise God for that moment and that moment belongs to him!

A dreamer no more!
"Only 1/10th of 1% of the population ever finishes a marathon. Being able to say,
“I am a marathoner” is one of life’s greatest boasts." --Coach Jim Lafferty
The Running Mom is now a Marathoner!
As I don't want to patronize pain but this is the life of a runner, limping, having difficulty in walking the stairs, even boarding the jeepney or tricycle, but pain is temporary and this is the pain worth having over and over again. Story to follow....

Globe Run For Home
THE biggest race to be staged in the first quarter of the year—the Globe Run for Home 2011—hits the road at the crack of dawn on March 27, 2011 with a sea of humanity expected to fill the Bonifacio Global City, each eager not only to breast the tape but to take part in an endeavor that will benefit the less fortunate.
With the registry books already filling up after the online registration via www.globe.com.ph/run which started in February 21, 2011, the Globe Run for Home 2011 is once again starting to fulfill its promise that racing in a fun-filled environment could be transformed into a more fulfilling event – both in body and heart.
Each participant pays a registration fee with a modest amount going to the various partner-institutions for the race. Compared to the previous two races, Globe Run For Home 2011 will now have 4 beneficiaries. They are Gawad Kalinga, Habitat for Humanity, Haribon Foundation and Virlanie Foundation. Registration fees are pegged at P650 for 3K, P750 for 5K, P850 for 10K, P950 for 15K and P1,050 for 21K.
The registration fee entitles runners to their race singlets available in various sizes, D-tag race chip, race bib number, runpix analysis, downloadable photos and finisher’s medal (21K category). And just like in its past two stagings, the Globe Run for Home 2011 will again use singlets made of 100 percent recycled PET plastic bottles. No other running event in the country has done that, thus adding the environment as fifth beneficiary.
Apart from sharing a portion of the race proceeds to 4 beneficiaries, this year’s Run for Home is also putting up a platform close to its heart in order to generate more donations for its partner-organizations. Through Globe GCASH, runners participating to this year’s Run for Home can encourage their respective circle of friends, families and loved ones to support their run by donating to their beneficiary of choice. To know more about GCASH and to register for an account, Globe and TM subscribers may simply call 2882 free from their mobile phones or log on to www.globe.com.ph/gcash.
To donate, text DONATE <space> AMOUNT <space> MPIN <space> INSTITUTION CODE and send to 2882. Institution codes are GK for Gawad Kalinga, HABITAT for Habitat for Humanity, HARIBON for Haribon Foundation and VIRLANIE for Virlanie Foundation. Donors have to make sure that they have enough GCASH credits in their account to be able to push through with the donation.
Since running has become a bonding activity among officemates, friends, and barkadas, group runners are also encouraged to join—with a special treat. For groups of four running in the same category, they will be allowed to bring in a fifth member for free.
Apart from the online registration at www.globe.com.ph/run, participants could also register and pay through cash at the Run for Home 2011 physical registration booth at the 4th Floor Cinema Lobby of Greenbelt 3 in Makati City that opened from February 28 to March 20, 2011. Race kits of runners paying in credit card will be delivered to their respective addresses while those paying in cash may claim their race kits at the on-site registration booth from 12 noon to 8 p.m.
Gun start for the race categories are as follows: 5:00 a.m. for the 21K, 5:15 a.m. for the 15K, 5:30 a.m. for the 10K, 5:45 a.m. for the 5K and 6 a.m. for the 3K. Participants who will miss the start will forfeit their chance of winning but could still run in the race.
Cash prizes will be given to top finishers. For 3k, 1st place gets P3,000, 2nd place gets P2,000 and 3rd place gets P1,000. For 5k, top finishers get P5,000, P3,000 and P2,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively. For 10k, top placers get P7,000, P5,000 and P3,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placers respectively.
