A Thrilling Valentines at Nuvali

Usually, a person would celebrate Valentines Day in a romantic way, some would watch movie, eat at a fine-dining restaurant, but most of the runners preferred celebrating it differently. We got up early, laced up our trail shoes, wore our singlet and headed up to Nuvali for the TNF Thrill of the Trail. A trail run on Valentines day is a breathe of fresh air, you get to run in a different environment and it's trail. It's not that often that there's a Trail Race, so why not join it?

Saw Takbo.ph peeps, Mark and Wilnar who also run the 22K course.

22K runners were transferred by bus tho their starting line

I forgot what time our run started but it was still pretty dark, so we traverse the road leading to the trail using our keen eyes not to bump. I think I was running for 2 kilometers when I tipped over a rock and stumble, landing my face flat to the sand. But there are still kind people around us, while most of the runners run past me, there was this one guy who offered his help and told me to take it easy, but I was. Thanks again to Romy Doctolero for helping me. Blessings to you Brother. :)

I lost track of how many river crossing we had, but I had fun doing it. At first I was avoiding of getting my shoes wet only to know that I would actually be crossing the river. Safety should always be first when doing a trail run, cause you might get injured if you're not. The course design my Mr. Neville Manaois and company is the best, and I wouldn't be thinking twice of joining the race again next year.

Upon crossing the finish line all the girls were given a rose

The race over-all was great, the course is superb, daring and intimidating which have left the runners craving for more. Next trail run is TNF100 at Baguio, will register for the 11K run. See you there. :)

Will post more picture soon. :D

PS:

When I tipped over a rock I didn't feel the pain right away, just last Monday I couldn't move my left arm and pain was unbearable and I went to the doctor to have it checked. I experienced swollen muscles and have to take anti-inflammatory medicine for the pain. :D

Condura Race 2010

Last year, I just did a 10K run on the Condura, I' am dying of envy of those people who run half-marathon showing off their medal and telling what a new adventure it was running the Skyway. That's why this year I signed up for a farther distance, the original plan was for me to run my very first marathon. Erick, would help me with this goal but with a snap of fate everything changed.  I was sick for six weeks I've been a slave to a virus that I almost can't do anything. I wasn't allowed to run or do anything strenuous, which have me worried how will I reach my goal of doing my first full marathon this year. Good thing that I emailed sooner Mr. Patrick Concepcion  about my problem.

I had the opportunity to chat with Mr. Patrick Concepcion during the racekit claiming (thanks Sir Pat for the photo)

It's official I will be doing the 21K instead of the 42K, thanks again Messrs. Patrick Concepcion and Vic Pielago for accommodating me. Congratulations to the Concepcion Brothers. Can't wait for the next Condura race.

RACE DAY

I have conquered the 21K distance for many times now, two of them is an official race the Eco-dash and QCIM, and many of which are LSD conquering Kennon Road and Commonwealth to name a few. But last Sunday was a different 21K distance for me. Yap, I'm proud to say that I did conquer the Skyway but I almost quitted  on this race, but am happy I didn't.

I will not elaborate more on what I felt and experience during the race because as what my other running friends have told me, finishing and not quitting calls for a celebration. I will not dwell on the past  but I will learn from it. Thanks to Carmen Cabiles for running beside me and so sorry for having you worried about me. To God be the glory!

Sheer Will Aquathlon Cup 4 (SWAC)

Few hours after arriving from Subic for my kid's Educational Trip, Erick and I are on the road to Camp Aguinaldo for the Sheer Will Aquathlon Cup. This would be the first time that Erick would be joining the Aquathlon Cup, and this would be a good time to meet some Takbo.ph guys.

We arrived at the venue minutes before the race, registered and paid the fee. We were greeted by Commissioner enRico Villanueva and volunteers for the said race.

Erick with James and Ian

The race was consisted of two categories, the Classic and Lite. For the Classic they would be doing a 6oomteres swim and 5K run while the Lite is 400meters and 3K run. Erick joined the Classic along with other SWAC veterans such as Ian Clemenio and Jason Dela Rama of Believe Strong, he has been cutting off some miles from his running due to his injury and is biking or swimming as his cross-training for the Condura 42K.

Briefing was held before the race

Rico, said that the Classic would go first and let them finish before the Lite would start. I, along with some of the Takbo.ph girls were given the task to count the lap of assigned athletes to us, and make it sure that they finish the said laps.

"Classic" Picture

I was glad that I attended this race to support my husband, and have met Takbo.ph people, some I know only in the forum. Was able to meet them personally and get to chat with them. And I was glad to have helped in this event.

"Lite" Picture

I had lots of fun at this race, and over-all it was organize and there were a lot of participants. There was free food for everyone courtesy of the January birthday celebrants including Rico. I was laughing almost all the time, there were a lot of clowns in the Takbo.ph people.

Erick won first place in the Classic followed by Jason Dela Rama and Vinci Carag.
