Bangkok --- Here I come

800px-bangkok_nighttimeBangkok City by night (from wikipedia.com)

Next Wednesday, together with my husband's relatives, we would be travelling to Bangkok for a 5D/4N stay. We booked a flight at Cebu Pacific's ZERO FARE last December 25 and we would be staying at Holiday Inn Bangkok.

groom_room_01_eThis would be our room (at least that's what the site tells us)

Our first day would be a city tour, we opted to a DIY (do it yourself) tour, because it would cost a little more if we go for a travel agency. So we could save money and expend it on shopping. We would also be treating ourselves with Thai cuisine, they say buffet meals in Bangkok have reasonable prices. I wanted to watch Siam Niramit, there have been great reviews about the play but with THB1700, we opted not too. Maybe when we return to Bangkok for some other time.

show-heaven

Mostly the trip would be shopping galore, shopping for things we can sell in the Philippines. I have orders from my online customers of kid's, baby and adult dresses. So I hope that I could combine business and pleasure and maybe some running too. ;)

I will post pictures an stories about my trip next week. See yah and God bless. :)

All set for the Condura Race

I'm officially registered to The Condura Race, thanks to my esposo. This would be my second race for the year, and I'm all excited. I've been running for the past weeks but only as a practice run. I wish I would beat my PR and get to finish the race in a sub 1hour.

I really love the shirt because of the design but because my esposo and  an early bird, we got the free size shirts. Good thing is that Mr. Patrick Concepcion,  The Running Shield mentioned in his message in the Happy Feet Group:

"The initial deliveries of shirts are free sizes. The s m l XL will be delivered in a few days. If you already registered and got a free size you can come to our CONDURA RACE HEAD OFFICE to exchange it to a better size. If you haven't registered yet try to come to address mentioned BELOW to register and get the right shirt size.

CONDURA RACE HEAD OFFICE :
308 Sen Gil puyat ave. Makati cities (We are beside Zuelig building, near RCBC building / in front of Hospital nang Makati.
Pls look for ms Alex dela torres or Ms. Michele Virtuoso"

I will be using the shirt when I get to replace it with my size. Yipee! :D

I was hoping/dreaming/wishing "too" in joining the 21K, it would be nice to run on the Skway,  but recently my heart been giving up on me. One reason is I gained additional weight, I've been too much happy cooking new recipes at home and trying my baking skills. But for sure that would be my goal for the year, join and finish a 21K half marathon with a decent time.

A day in a mom's life

I had to rush my daughter Rebeccah to the hospital last night, for there were rashes all over her body. It isn't the first time that she had rashes but what alarmed me was the rashes forming under her eyes. We left the house at around 9:20PM and left my other kid with my brother, thinking that we would just be quick in the hospital.

1_352413732lthat's my Rebeccah on the right

We rode a taxi going to Capitol Medical Center and went straight to the Emergency Room. Nurses and Doctors asked me what the problem was and I told them that there were rashes all over her body. They took her body temperature, weight, height, and BP. And then they put something over her finger which the nurse told me that it was for checking the oxygen in her body. Since everything was normal, including her breathing the Doctor just said that they will give Dipenhydramine shot to my kid for faster effect and that she will be observe while we're still at the hospital. Just after a couple of minutes, my kid told me that she was feeling sleepy (it's the medicine's effect) so I just let her sleep on the hospital bed and waited.

While waiting for the discharge advise of the doctor, there were lots of kid (patient) being rushed to the ER. Some of them had high fever, bump on the head, and even had rashes. It was a good help for my family having a healthcard which we can use in emergency cases such as this. Before, when I was still working I also had my own healthcard being the Principal holder under DARE Med+Care Plus Plan, their services was excellent. But now, I'm just a Dependent under my husband's healthcard under Intellicare. Both of them offer the same services and is a really good help.

It was around 12:05AM when the Doctor approached us and handed me our discharge slip, since almost all of the rashes were gone. My daughter was prescribed to take Iterax syrup daily for three days. I had a hard time finding this medicine, I went to FIVE Mercury Drugstore (1. EDSA corner West Avenue, 2. West Avenue near Delta, 3. Quezon Avenue near Crossings, 4. Waltermart Munoz, and 5. EDSA corner Munoz) but all of them had non on their stock (what kind of drugstore are them?!). Really, I was so pissed with them that they even had no other medicine with same generic name but different brand. What really made me pissed was that I had to administer the medication to my kid for the rashes was slowly appearing again. It was a surprise that I bought one from a "small" drugstore along Roosevelt Avenue.

I made some researches of my own about the rashes my kid is having and here's what I found out. She is encountering "Urticaria"

190px-urtikaria_fuss" Urticaria also called nettle-rash or hives or wheals in a common language, simply means itching with rash. Medically, urticaria may be defined as skin eruption, which is allergic (or non-allergic) in origin and is characterized by profound itching, red circular or irregularly shaped eruptions on any part of the body. Urticaria is an allergic or non-allergic immunological disease, shown on the skin. Characteristically the skin eruptions are erythematous, raised above the skin level, with intense itching and usually worsened by itching an with slight local warmth. It can be acute or chronic; largely having a tendency to recur frequently for many months or years." (http://www.urticaria.com/)

For now, I had to observe my kid and note if some changes occur. I had to bring her back to the hospital for follow up check up. What can I say, it's better for me to get sick than my kids. If only I can take my kid's sickness from her, I would do it. Let's keep watch of our health and stay fit.

A Tale of Love

We just came from Baguio City to attend the wedding of my husband's cousin TJ Ayson and Donna Ganancial. The wedding was held last February 7, 2009 in Baguio Country Club. I can say that I fall in love all over again. The wedding was so solemn, well prepared and so romantic that I shed tears while the couples were giving their vows (mababa lang talaga luha ko). Whenever I attend weddings, I can't help but to envy them because I was married civilly, I believe that it's ever girls wish to have their wedding dream come true.

These shots were taken after the wedding ceremony;

Educational Trip

My kids recently had their Educational Trip, since the fee for the said trip was already included in the monthly fees that we pay I only had to pay for myself. It cost P950.00 which I think is very reasonable. We arrived at the Hope Christian Academy at a very early time of 5:15AM, earlier than the said assembly time. I have reserved a seat for my good friend May so that we could have time to chat. :) The bus left at exactly 6:30AM and we're off to our first destination.

First stop was the Philippine Science Centrum located in E-Com Bldg., Riverbanks Center , Barangka, Marikina City.

psc-vicinity-map

It is the first interactive Science Center - Museum in the Philippines. The trip there was educating and I would recommend it even for a family visit. You can check out their site for further information.

Then, Gardenia Philippines... (picture taking was not allowed inside the building, these photos came from their site)

"Gardenia educational tours allow students to have a better appreciation and understanding of modern bread production that is fully automated and computer-controlled, untouched by human hands."

Since it took time for us to go to Gardenia Philippines due to traffic, we had lunch first before going to the Lucky Me Noodle Factory. Picture taking was also prohibited in the vicinity, they just took a class picture of the kids who had tour and uploads it in their Multiply Account, but for reasons I don't know my kid's class picture were not included in the site.

Then, Enchanted Kingdom, my kids (and me) had lots of fun in this theme park.
